Bloody Sunday one of the key events in the civil rights act were people lived in segregation. The civil rights activists were nonviolent which I don’t see why they just would go there and stand there and let them beat up on them. I mean I respect them for doing it takes a lot to stand there and get beaten and firebombed and doing nothing back I could not do that. I means a lot to the people that came back and saw all these people gathering to support what they did. Obama in the articles words “he hailed the marchers as heroes” (Basu, Shelbayah, Brumfield, front). Most of the people who started this movement will not get to see the end of it there is still work to be done according to Obama and I agree. Obama also thinks we cannot repay the people who stood there 50 years ago and he is right they made history and helped change America we cannot repay them enough for what they did. These people were the ones who finished the work after the civil war ended they were suppose to be freed but they weren't free they didn't have rights until they started this movement.
